How to Opt Out of AllPeople

Step 1

Go to AllPeople’s Removal Tool. If you land on the AllPeople homepage instead, that is their bot check bouncing you: scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Removal Tool” link in the footer, which takes you straight there.

Step 2

On the removal page, enter your email address and tick the box confirming you are the subject of the record, or that the subject authorized you to remove it for them. Clear the “not a robot” check, then click “Begin Removal Process”.

Step 3

You are then prompted to search for your record. Find the listing that matches you and click its “Remove” button. AllPeople then emails you a link to confirm the request, and the removal is not processed until you click that link. AllPeople states the removal process may take up to 72 hours to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my information on AllPeople?

AllPeople is a data broker, it compiles information like business contact info, job title, employer from public records and other sources and makes it searchable. This is generally legal in the US; data brokers aren’t required to get your permission before listing publicly available information. That doesn’t mean you have to leave it there.

Does AllPeople require a CAPTCHA or account to opt out?

You will need to clear a bot check as part of the opt-out process, and you will need to supply an email address so AllPeople can send you the confirmation link. No account or sign-up is required.

Will I get a confirmation?

Yes, and it is a required step rather than a receipt. AllPeople sends an email containing a link that confirms the removal request, and the request is not completed until you click it. If you submit the form and never open that email, your listing stays up.

How long does removal take?

AllPeople states the removal process may take up to 72 hours to complete once you have confirmed it. It’s worth checking back after a week or two to confirm your listing is gone.

Is this a one-time fix?

No. Data brokers continually re-collect public records, so listings can reappear over months. Repeating this process periodically, or using an automated removal service that monitors and re-submits on your behalf, is the only way to keep it off long-term.

Prefer not to do this manually for every broker? Services like Incogni, DeleteMe, and Optery automate this same process across hundreds of data brokers and re-check periodically. We compare them honestly in our Comparisons
section, but the free method above works just as well if you’re only dealing with a handful of sites.
